OILERS HOCKEY ADDS SKILLED POWER FORWARD J.C. CAMPAGNA

Oilers continue to add size to forward corps., signing 6’4 forward J.C. Campagna

TULSA, Okla.— The Tulsa Oilers, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks and AHL’s San Diego Gulls, announced Friday the signing of forward J.C. Campagna. 

Campagna, 29, joins the Oilers after an abridged season with the Allen Americans, registering an impressive 15 points (10G, 5A) in just 21 games, including a two-goal game against the Oilers.

“J.C. is another guy that adds size to our lineup,” said head coach Rob Murray. “He is a proven producer, scoring 35 goals in Fort Wayne a couple of seasons ago. He brings experience at 29, and he doesn’t count against the veteran cap with 192 games. He is a player that I liked as an opposing coach. I’m excited to see what he can bring to our team.”  

The 6’4, 208 lbs. forward began his pro career in with Adirondack in 2017 upon the completion of his college career. Campagna has played 192 regular season ECHL games, logging 138 points (75G, 63A) With Adirondack, Orlando, Wheeling, Allen, Fort Wayne, Norfolk and Allen. The productive forward’s resume includes one AHL game with the Chicago Wolves during the 2018-19 season. 

Prior to turning pro, the Dallas, TX native played three years of Canadian college hockey, compiling 55 points (29G, 26A) in 84 games with St. Thomas University and the University of Prince Edward Island.

Campagna played in the CHL before heading to school, producing 35 points (18G, 17A) in 129 OHL games and 77 points (40G, 37A) in 115 QMJHL games. The multi-league product played for Sarnia and Peterborough in the OHL, and was a member of Cape Breton, Shawinigan, Quebec and Moncton’s squads in the QMJHL. Oilers head coach Rob Murray also played his OHL hockey with Peterborough, and played for Moncton when the team was a member of the AHL.

With this announcement, the Oilers announced roster now includes Ethan Stewart, Jackson Leef, John Furgele, Eric Dop, Alex Pommerville, Alex Kromm, Eddie Matsushima, Zane Schartz (PTO), Tyler Poulsen, Chris Perna, Mike McKee, Connor Bramwell, Justin Bean, Alex Gilmour and J.C. Campagna.
