Goaltender Kevin Carr is spending his first full season with the Tulsa Oilers. Prior to coming to Tulsa, @carrsy37 spent his collegiate years at Buffalo State University in Buffalo, New York. He left quite the impression on the Tigers. Not only did he appear in every game as a senior, but he also left the school with a new record of a .929 save percentage, as well as nine other school records including career marks for saves, wins and shutouts. Carr also made the State University of New York Athletic Conference Goalie of the Week eleven times during his time in Buffalo, and Rookie of the Week twice during his freshman year.
Carr made his professional debut with the Peoria Rivermen in 2014. The Rivermen, a member of the Southern Professional Hockey League, are based in Peoria, Illinois. While he only played in four games, he registered a total of 243 minutes, a goals against average of 1.48- a total of six goals were made against Carr, two wins, a loss and an overtime loss.
During the 2014-2015 season, Carr’s debut with the Oilers, he played in a total of fifty two games. Carr managed to set another record for the best goals against average among all previous Tulsa Oilers netminders. He was also the first Tulsa goalie to win 30 games in a single season since Rob Branch over a decade ago. So far this season, Carr has been in the net for nearly 2,500 minutes. While he has had ninety one goals against, he has accomplished three separate shutouts and a goals against average of 2.24. His save percentage is currently sitting at 0.917, placing him at eleventh among all ECHL goaltenders. If you are looking to catch an entertaining evening right here in Tulsa, come down to the BOK Center to see the one and only Kevin Carr let pucks travelling at unnaturally high speeds fly directly towards his body. You aren’t going to want to miss one of the few remaining games we have left here at Tulsa’s BOK Center. While we only have five home games left of the regular season, it is all about quality, not quantity. The next five games are sure not to disappoint. We have contests against the Missouri Mavericks, Allen Americans and the Colorado Grizzlies in the 918. Our next home game is Friday, March 18th against the league front runner, Missouri Mavericks. Only two teams have managed to beat Missouri at their rink in Independence, Missouri- a suburb of Kansas City. The Tulsa Oilers have done it twice, and as we speak, our playing a game in Independence which is still tied at zero. The next night, Saturday, March 19th, the Tulsa Oilers will host the Allen Americans with a 7:05pm start time. Fast forward to the end of March, following a long road trip to both Allen and the Utah Grizzlies, the Oilers will be back at the BOK Center back to back when the Colorado Eagles take over the visiting locker rooms on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 29th and 30th. Our final regular season game will be on April 9th when the Wichita Thunder makes the trek down the Turnpike to face the Oilers on Fan Appreciation night.
