OILERS EXTEND QUALIFYING OFFERS TO THREE

Tulsa issues qualifying offers to Drapluk, Knight andTesink ahead of July 1 deadline.

TULSA, OK – The Tulsa Oilers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis Blues, and Head Coach Rob Murray issued Qualifying Offers to three players for the 2019-20 season this past weekend.

These are the three players who received offers*:

Forwards

Eric Drapluk

Cam Knight

Ryan Tesink

*Players who had already signed acontract by June 30 did not need to receive a qualifying offer.Each team was entitled to reserve the rights to a maximum of eight qualifiedplayers. Of the eight qualified players, no more than four could be veterans(260 regular season professional hockey games played as of the start of theupcoming 2019-20 season). Players on open qualifying offers cannot betraded. The qualifying offer must remain open for acceptance until July 16 at whichtime the qualifying offer becomes null and void and the team may sign thequalified player to any salary or may elect to take no further action. Teamsthat extend a valid qualifying offer to a non-veteran player shall retain therights to that qualified player for one playing season. A team that extends a valid qualifying offer to a veteran player will retainthe rights to that veteran until July 16. After July 16, if the veteran playeris not signed to a contract by the team, the veteran shall be deemed arestricted free agent and shall be entitled to seek and secure offers ofemployment from other ECHL teams. Restricted free agents may not be traded.When a restricted free agent receives a contract offer from a team other thanthe team with the player’s rights and the restricted free agent wishes toaccept the contract offer, the restricted free agent and the offering membermust, within 24 hours, notify the ECHL, the team with the player’s rights andthe Professional Hockey Players’ Association. The member with the player’srights shall have seven days after the date it is notified to exercise itsright to match the contract offer. If a restricted free agent is not signed to either an offer sheet or a contractby an ECHL team by Aug. 1, the player shall be deemed an unrestricted freeagent.

The Oilers open the season Friday, October 11 on home iceat the BOK Center, when they face-off against the Kansas City Mavericks at7:05pm. Tulsa then hosts the Allen Americans Saturday, October 12 at 7:05pm,and welcomes the Rapid City Rush Sunday, October 13 at 4:05pm to completeopening weekend.
