Tulsa, Okla. — Tulsa Oilers, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks and the AHL’s San Diego Gulls, and powered by Community Care, receive a skater in Oliver Tarr as a waiver claim from Greenville and a goalie in Tomas Suchanek on reassignment from San Diego, just before the regular season begins.
Tarr (24) was picked up by Tulsa off waivers from the Greenville Swamprabbits. The new Oilers forward recently completed his senior season at Canisius College. The Uxbridge, Ontario, native served as the team's captain during his fourth year at the collegiate level. He finished with 52 points (24g, 28a) in 115 career games with the Golden Griffins. The latest Tulsa waiver claim played 20 games with Wichita last year after completing his college career, compiling four goals and four assists for eight points in that time.
Suchanek (23) appeared in 15 games with the San Diego Gulls during the 2025-26 season, finishing with a 5-7-3 record, a 3.31 goals-against average and an .879 save percentage. He also saw action in 12 contests with Tulsa, posting a 3-8-0 record with a 4.27 GAA and an .884 save percentage. Across 44 career AHL games with San Diego, the returning goalie owns a 3.06 GAA, a .901 save percentage and three shutouts.
The 6-foot-2, 181-pound netminder spent three seasons with the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League from 2020-23, compiling a 39-38-5 record in 88 appearances with a 3.44 GAA and a .906 save percentage. On the international stage, Suchanek helped Czechia capture silver at the 2023 World Junior Championship, leading all tournament goaltenders with a 1.38 GAA and a .938 save percentage while earning All-Star Team honors. He previously represented Czechia at the 2022 World Junior Championship, the 2021 U-18 World Junior Championship and the 2020 World U-17 Hockey Challenge. A native of Přerov, Czechia, Suchanek has competed internationally at multiple levels throughout his career.
