Tulsa, Okla. — Tulsa Oilers, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks and the AHL’s San Diego Gulls, and powered by Community Care, announce defenseman Jake Lee has been loaned to Tulsa from San Diego, adding depth at the blue line before opening night.
Lee (25) signed an AHL contract with the San Diego Gulls in July of this year, solidifying his American League rights within the Oilers’ affiliation tree. The second-year defenseman made his pro debut, suiting up for 14 games with Tulsa during the 2025-26 season. He scored his first professional goal on March 21 on the road against the Idaho Steelheads when he equalized the game at one in the opening minute of the second period, ripping the puck topshelf past Jake Barczewski 51 seconds into the frame. He would later top his opening goal with a game-sealing backhander 5:53 into overtime to secure the rubber match 4-3 in Tulsa’s favor. Lee compounded three goals and one assist in those 14 games with Tulsa to end the season.
The Sherwood Park, Alberta native played four seasons at the University of British Columbia, where he played in 101 regular-season games, scoring 42 goals and collecting 65 assists for 107 points in a Thunderbirds sweater. The loaned skater from San Diego also added 19 playoff games in his college career, in which he scored once and added 16 assists for 17 points.
The Tulsa Oilers begin the regular season hosting the Allen Americans on October 17 at the BOK Center. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. CT.
