Tulsa, Okla. — Tulsa Oilers, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks and the AHL’s San Diego Gulls, and powered by Community Care, announce the addition of Jonny Hooker to the forward group before training camp.
Hooker (24) made his professional debut mid-season during the 2025-26 season with Tulsa. The returning forward scored his first two professional goals in a 2-0 shutout win on February 27 at WeStreet Ice Center over the Rapid City Rush.
“Hooker is a versatile player who can play both center and wing,” said Head Coach Rob Murray. “He came in late last year after finishing his Canadian college career, and he showed some real flashes of brilliance. His first two goals with us both came in a 2-0 win over Rapid City at WeStreet Ice Center, so he’s already shown that he can make an impact. We’re excited to see what he can do with a full season.”
The Winnipeg, Manitoba native played 27 games for the Oilers last year, compiling four goals and five assists for nine points and finished the season as a +1 on the ice.
Before turning pro, the six-foot-one, 190-pound skater spent four seasons with the University of Manitoba, participating in 108 games and recording 84 points (43g, 41a) in his U Sports career.
Hooker’s junior development occurred in the WHL with the Brandon Wheat Kings and the Prince George Cougars over five seasons, scoring 43 goals, an average of 8.6 goals per season.
Hooker joins Jake Sibell (G), Dylan Fitze (F), Lukas Jirousek (F), Tyrell Goulbourne (F), Mike McKee (D), Nik Armstrong-Kingcade (F), Caleb Huffman (D), Max Itagaki (F), Ian Amsbaugh (F), Connor Fedorek (D), Ethan Benz (F), Zachary Murray (F), Max Ruoho (D), Caiden Gault (F), Jay Dickman (F), and Tyler Poulsen (F) as announced signings for the 2026-27 season.
The Tulsa Oilers begin the regular season hosting the Allen Americans on October 17 at the BOK Center. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. CT.
