Tulsa, Okla. — Tulsa Oilers, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks and the AHL’s San Diego Gulls, and powered by Community Care, announced the first preseason game of the year, as the Oilers will face the Wichita Thunder at Wichita Ice Center, Friday, October 9, at 7:05 p.m. CT.
The last time the Oilers took to the ice was the final game of the 2025-26 regular season, against the Wichita Thunder. Tulsa bested Wichita in a thrilling 7-6 victory to end the season and slide above their cross-state rivals in the standings. Now they will open up the preseason against one another with a renewed goal of a Kelly Cup championship.
Tulsa finished the 2025-26 season with a 2-4-0-0 record against Wichita. The Oilers hold an 87-35-15 record against the Thunder in their ECHL era and will face their longest-standing rival 14 times, more than any other opponent on the 2026-27 schedule.
Ticket information for the preseason game between the Oilers and the Thunder at Wichita Ice Center on Oct. 9 at 7:05 p.m. CT will be announced at a later date.
The Tulsa Oilers begin the regular season hosting the Allen Americans on October 17 at the BOK Center. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. CT.
