OILERS ADD BROTHERS JEFF AND TANNER FAITH TO BLUE LINE
Pair of six-foot-four brothers sign with Oilers
TULSA, Okla. —The Tulsa Oilers, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks and the AHL’s San Diego Gulls and powered by Community Care, announced Monday the signings of defensemen Jeff Faith and Tanner Faith ahead of the 2025-26 season
Jeff, 27, joins the Oilers after spending last season overseas in the Estre Liga with Dunaújvárosi Acélbikák, posting seven points (2g, 5a) and 76 PIM in a 31-game rookie campaign. The six-foot-four, 200-pound defenseman elected to begin his pro journey overseas after a four-year career at the University of Saskatchewan, logging 15 points (7g, 8a), 135 PIM and a +7 rating in 78 appearances with the Huskies.
Spokane’s first-round pick in the 2013 WHL Draft dressed in 230 WHL contests, compiling 29 points (8g, 21a) and 257 PIM, almost all with the Chiefs before closing his Major Junior career as a playoff acquisition with Kamloops. Jeff logged a career-best 17 points (5g, 12a) along with 53 PIM and a +13 rating as an alternate captain in 2017-18 with Spokane, finishing the year with seven postseason appearances.
Tanner, 29, returns to hockey after a multi-season hiatus. Selected in the fifth round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Minnesota Wild, Tanner last played for the University of British Columbia, where he collected six points (2g, 4a) and 102 PIM in 56 games.
The six-foot-four, 220-pound blueliner spent the vast majority of his WHL career with his drafting club, the Kootenay Ice, finishing a 148-game career with 39 points (6g, 33a) and 129 PIM. However, the elder Faith brother’s best season came in his lone campaign with Moose Jaw accruing 24 points (3g, 21a) and 54 PIM while serving as an alternate captain with the Warriors.
Jeff and Tanner Faith join announced blueliners Duggie Lagrone, Mike McKee, Michael Davies and Cade McNelly as well as forwards Josh Nelson, Tyler Poulsen, Keegan Iverson, Easton Armstrong, Justin Michaelian, Matthew Henry, Tyrell Goulbourne, Adam McMaster and Matt Koethe as announced skaters. Two preseason games against the Allen Americans are on the slate for the Oilers this season. Starting on the road at Nytex Sports Centre in North Richland Hills, Texas on Thursday Oct. 9 before hosting at WeStreet Ice Center in Tulsa on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 7:05 p.m. Tickets for the Oct. 11 game at WeStreet Ice Center can be purchased HERE
The Oilers kick off the 2025-26 season on the road, heading to the Coralville, Iowa on Friday, Oct. 17 for a 7 p.m. season-opening battle with the Iowa Heartlanders before closing the campaign-starting weekend with a 4 p.m. rematch at Xtream Arena on Sunday, Oct. 19.
Tulsa’s 2025-26 home-opening extravaganza features a 7:05 p.m. showdown with the Tahoe Knight Monsters on Friday, Oct.24 and finishes with the first Sunday Family Funday of the season with the Knight Monsters and Oilers facing off at 3:05 p.m. at the BOK Center.
