OILERS FLIP THE SCRIPT WITH OVERTIME WIN AGAINST UTAH
Conner Bleackley scores twice for Tulsa, including the game-winner 28 seconds into overtime Saturday at the BOK Center.
TULSA, OK – The Tulsa Oilers saw a 3-0 lead disappear, before capping a wild game with a 5-4 overtime win Saturday against the Utah Grizzlies at the BOK Center
The Oilers jumped out to a 3-0 lead through 20 minutes of play, as captain Adam Pleskach scored 1:03 into the game. Defenseman Eric Drapluk extended the lead when he joined an odd-man rush and shot the puck over the glove of Utah goaltender Angus Redmond. Tulsa’s leading scorer Conner Bleackley made it 3-0 on a wrist shot from the right circle.
Utah cut into the Oilers lead in the second period thanks to a pair of goals from Brendan Harms. Harms spoiled Tulsa goaltender Jake Hildebrand’s shutout bid right after a Grizzlies power play ended. The rookie added a second goal late in the frame on a deflection in front of the net to make it a 3-2 game heading into the third.
Dmitrii Sergeev padded the Oilers lead to 4-2 early in the third period with a wrap-around goal, but the Grizzlies clawed back to force overtime with back-to-back goals from Ryan Olsen and Ryan Misiak. Bleackley tallied his second of the game 28 seconds into overtime to win the game 5-4. Hildebrand stopped 38 of 42 shots for his first Oilers victory.
