The Tulsa Oilers, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL Winnipeg Jets and AHL Manitoba Moose announce Alzheimer’s Association Night this Friday, March 16 at the BOK Center. The Oilers and will face the Missouri Mavericks as they wear special purple jerseys to help raise awareness and money for the Alzheimer’s Association Oklahoma Chapter.
After the game, these limited edition jerseys will be auctioned off along with a one of a kind art Oilers art piece, dinner with three Oilers players and local Tulsa goods (yoga classes, dance lessons, and more)!
Unique to the cause is the special goalie mask Oilers’ goaltender Kevin Carr will sport. This game-worn Alzheimer’s goalie mask will be auctioned off after the game as well.
How many are affected by this cause in our state? Those with Alzheimer’s in Oklahoma can fill up the BOK Center three and half times.
“There are 60,000 Oklahomans living with Alzheimer’s disease, so one of the key aspects of our efforts is creating awareness about me we can help,” said Mark Fried, President/CEO Alzheimer’s Association Oklahoma Chapter. “This partnership with the Tulsa Oilers is a prime example of how we can end Alzheimer’s together.”
The evening will include information and giveaways before and during the game. The Alzheimer’s Association will be in the grand lobby at a booth where one can get more information about the association and enter to win a “Date Night” gift basket that includes glass seats to the Oilers last regular season home game on April 9.
Help the Oilers turn the BOK Center purple this Friday! Proceeds from the game night will benefit the 2016 Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This walk will be at Guthrie Green in Tulsa on October 22, 2016.
